Munich on the way to becoming a Zero Waste City – food for thought for Plastic Free July with Carina Koop

by JUNGLÜCK Redaktion

We are in the middle of Plastic Free July - a global movement that calls for people to do without single-use plastic. An impetus for new plastic-free habits. Munich is going one step further: the city is on its way to becoming a Zero Waste City. But what does this concept actually mean? Will Munich be completely waste-free? Carina Koop tells us this on behalf of the entire Zero Waste team in the podcast. She is a research associate in the Circular Economy Department at the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy, where she coordinates the Zero Waste City Munich project.

  • What is Plastic Free July?
  • What does the concept of zero waste mean?
  • Munich garbage-free – what has the city done so far? What still needs to be done?
  • What solutions are already available in Munich?
  • What does that mean for me as a citizen? How can I imagine a waste-free city? Because we still use waste.
  • What tips do you have for starting a waste-free life?
  • How can I participate actively as a citizen?
