10 tips for radiant skin
by Lena Severin
When you walk through the city these days, you see a lot of tired faces. When I look in the mirror, I miss the sun even more, my complexion is so pale and dull. There's no radiance left. Even the best highlighter in the world won't help. But what can you do? I'll tell you in this article and answer all your questions about radiant skin. So, let's g(l)ow!
1. Diet for radiant skin? What can you eat to make your skin glow?
Let's start with the basics. At JUNGLÜCK, we always look at skin care from a holistic perspective. Because even the very best care can only achieve its full effect if we give it a little help with a healthy lifestyle.
Tip 1: More water for radiant skin
I know, it's not exactly the number one insider tip, but drinking enough water helps the whole body to carry out its natural functions, such as metabolism. And the same goes for the skin. If you drink 2-3 liters of water every day, it will be easier for your skin to regenerate, protect you from the outside and retain moisture. The effect? Your skin will be plumper, well moisturized AND you will get a wonderful natural glow.
Tip 2: Green tea as a booster for radiant skin
Our product developer Moni swears by green tea. Brewed in a tea bag or as a powder in a delicious matcha latte. Packed with antioxidants, green tea protects your skin from free radicals. Free what? You can imagine them like this: They buzz around in the air that surrounds you and attack your skin. It has the job of fending off these free radicals every day to keep you healthy. So the skin is your protective shield and the antioxidants strengthen it in its defense against the invaders, keeping it fresh and strong.
Tip 3: Antioxidants from within for radiant skin
A lot of things in your body can be regulated through your diet. It is actually the basis of our vitality, including the skin of course. In addition to green tea, there are other foods that make your skin glow. In general, fruit and vegetables, but also vegetable oils (make sure they are high quality) and nuts are rich in antioxidants. Berries and pomegranates, grapes and spinach, carrots and apples can therefore be on the table more often from now on. A delicious way to support your skin. And to boost your natural glow at the same time.
2. Conscious lifestyle = radiant skin
Aside from paying attention to what we eat, there are other things you can do to help not only your skin but also your mood get out of the winter slump. You probably already know this, but our lifestyle has a huge impact on the appearance of our skin. It is a very important factor that we have a lot, if not all, control over. Here are the lifestyle tips that will help your skin glow:
Tip 4: Exercise for radiant skin
When we exercise, we relieve stress, we get our circulation going, our pores open, we flush out toxins. We feel balanced, emotionally and physically. This affects all areas of our lives, including our skin. From yoga to HIIT, boxing, swimming, jogging, Pilates, cycling, whatever you enjoy is also good for your skin. With a certain level of regularity, the post-workout glow will soon become a permanent radiance.
Tip 5: Sleep well
The same applies here as with sport: restful, quality sleep affects your entire life. You have more energy in everyday life, feel less tired, your mood is brighter and sugar cravings also decrease. All effects that will breathe new life into your pale skin. But how can you make sleep more restful? Make sure you have a cool bedroom. Ideally, turn off all screens 2-3 hours before going to bed. If you find this point as difficult as I do, at least make sure you set it to night mode so that the blue light waves are greatly reduced, as they prevent the production of the sleep hormone melatonin. Alcohol worsens the quality of sleep. Unfortunately not true when it comes to the quality of sleep, as the body is far too active for that. You should also not go to bed with a full stomach. The digestive process also prevents you from getting a really good night's sleep. The right mattress and the right pillow also make a huge difference. It's actually worth investing a little more money here.
These are just a few tips to improve your sleep quality, but maybe they will help you wake up refreshed in the morning. Your skin will thank you with a glow and the rest of your body with more energy.
3. What care makes the skin glow? Creams, serums and oils: your glow routine
Tip 6: No radiant skin without proper cleansing
Unfortunately, it is a very widespread myth that the skin has to be scrubbed properly to be really clean. Peeling beads, salts, aggressive surfactants or even very rough cleaning wipes - NOT the way to go. Such methods swell the skin, wash out its lipids and nutrients or, in the worst case, even cause micro-injuries. Even the best care products have a lot of work to do to give the skin all the nutrients it needs. So: clean more gently but thoroughly. We recommend the cleansing oil or the cleansing gel for this. The oil cleanses gently and is particularly suitable for removing make-up or sunscreen residue. The cleansing gel is perfect for impure or combination skin because, thanks to the organic chamomile extract it contains, it soothes the skin while it cleanses it. Both products only contain very mild plant-based surfactants. This means that the skin remains intact during cleansing and can retain its nutrients and lipids. And further care works much better too! Cleansing is the be-all and end-all of skin care and the foundation for radiant skin!
Tip 7: Fruit acid gives you a natural glow
Ever heard of BHA and AHA? If you already know JUNGLÜCK, you probably already know our two fruit acid peels. If not, then you can read this blog post in more detail. Here we go into more detail about BHA and AHA and explain the differences and which product is better suited for which skin.
Either way: Fruit acid peels help your skin to regenerate overnight. They take care of dead skin cells, remove excess sebum from the pores and thus prevent the formation of impurities. So why fruit acid peels should not be missing from your routine: They ensure fresh, well-hydrated and radiant skin!
Tip 8: Vitamin C serum makes the skin glow
The active ingredient ascorbic acid, commonly known as vitamin C, consists of small, water-soluble molecules that penetrate deep into the skin and exert their wonderful effects. Do you remember the benefits of antioxidants in your diet? Our Vitamin C serums have the same effect, but from the outside. The Sensitive Serum is suitable for beginners, while if you have experienced, insensitive skin you can also use the Intensive Serum. No matter which one you choose, it protects your collagen structure thanks to its antioxidant effect and also ensures the formation of skin-tightening vitamin E and collagen. Use it in the morning or evening for a wonderfully balanced complexion.
Tip 9: Niacinamide for strong, radiant skin
The Niacinamide Serum is one of our favorites in the JUNLGÜCK team. I think that almost everyone of us has it in our bathroom cabinet and rightly so! Because the Niacinamide Serum is a true all-rounder that has a calming and regenerating effect. It stimulates skin renewal and the formation of collagen (the framework of our skin) and ceramides (the building blocks of the skin). It balances sebum production and relieves redness. The ideal effect for even, radiant skin.
Tip 10: Hyaluron: Moisture booster for your radiance
Before we get to the creams, I would like to talk about a product combination that is my personal insider tip: combine your vitamin C serum or the niacinamide serum with the hyaluronic acid concentrate . Our hyaluronic acid concentrate contains all three molecule lengths of hyaluronic acid, i.e. short, medium and long chain. This means that it penetrates deep into the skin. BUT the best property of hyaluronic acid is that when it penetrates the skin, it binds other molecules and transports them into the skin. This allows the active ingredients of the serums to penetrate the skin even better. For me, this is the top tip for radiant skin.
For a little more richness you can Use one of our hyaluronic creams . It supplies your skin with important lipids and nutrients, keeps it supple and helps it retain all the wonderful moisture from the serums and concentrate.
For an extra portion of nourishing richness, you can add one of our oils. You can find out which oils we have in our range and which oil is suitable for your skin here .
