Your JUNGLÜCK care as a quick routine
by Lena Severin
Hand on heart: We in the JUNGLÜCK team also sometimes stand in front of the mirror and don't really feel like doing an extensive skincare routine. Some days we simply don't have the time or we just want to start the day quickly and just fall into bed in the evening. We know it, you know it. And yet skin care shouldn't be neglected. That's why I asked around in the team and collected 5 tips on how you can shorten your personal skincare routine a bit with very simple tricks.
- Mix it up: Product combinations that save time
- Multitasking: optimal time saver
- Sorting products: your routine at your fingertips
- Facial cleansing: quick & thorough
- Leave the beauty tools in the cupboard
1. Mix it up: Product combinations that save time
The easiest way to save time on facial care is to combine the individual steps. However, this does not work with every product, as a water-based product does not mix particularly well with an oil-based product. In principle, you can mix these JUNGLÜCK product categories together:
HYALURONIC CONCENTRATE & SERUMS
The hyaluronic concentrate is one of our most popular products because it gives every skin a good dose of moisture and keeps it fresh. If you use one of our serums alongside the concentrate, you have the opportunity to save a few minutes. If you follow the layering steps, you would actually apply the concentrate first, let it work, and then apply the serum. But if I'm in a hurry, I mix a pump of the concentrate with 3-4 drops of your serum in the palm of my hand. For example, one of our vitamin C serums . I then dab the mix on my nose, chin, cheeks and forehead and massage it in gently. In summer, that's actually all I apply, apart from sunscreen of course.
FACE CREAM & OILS
Especially in winter, a combination of concentrate and serum is usually not enough. To protect my skin from the cold, I therefore use the hyaluronic cream together with the jojoba oil . The tip that Michael gave me when I was first starting out at JUNGLÜCK is really worth its weight in gold: Mix one pump of the cream with 2-3 drops of your oil, in my case: the argan oil . You can really combine all the products from both categories, so don’t worry. This clever trick not only saves you some time, but also prevents the products from “rolling off” your skin in little balls if you don’t leave enough time between the individual layering steps. Two birds with one stone! Oh, and one more thing: Of course, even in winter, don’t forget to apply sunscreen at the end of the morning.
OIL & SERUM?
You don't use the hyaluronic concentrate or a cream and want to combine your serum with your oil? I already explained at the beginning that it can be difficult to mix some products that don't have the same base. An oil will never really mix with a serum in the palm of your hand. For your facial skin, this means that in some places the serum may be on top of the oil and cannot be properly absorbed. The layering rule of thumb "from thin to thick" makes sense here. Oil and serum should therefore continue to be applied separately.
2. Multitasking: optimal time saver
By combining products, you can save a few minutes in the morning. The next tip comes from our lovely design team: multitasking in the bathroom. Maybe this tip is already a completely natural part of your routine for you, but we can all certainly use a little reminder now and then. I'm sure I'm not the only one who checks notifications and social media in the bathroom in the morning while my skin absorbs the individual care steps. Here's a little reminder for all of us: put your cell phone away in the bathroom - while your serum is taking effect or you're waiting for your facial toner to be absorbed, you can brush your teeth, turn on the coffee machine, get the mail or quickly vacuum the room. Whatever is part of your morning routine, use the little breaks in your care routine for other things that save you time. Apart from that, a lot of bacteria accumulate on your cell phone. If you constantly move your fingers from the screen to your face, you risk blemishes and particularly challenge the skin's protective barrier.
3. Sort products: your routine at hand
I got this recommendation from Julie, our social media manager. She put the products in her bathroom cabinet in the order in which she uses them. Where your morning routine differs from your evening routine, the two products are simply placed next to each other. Also important: Separate the products you use every day from those you only use a few days a week. So on one side you have your routine(s) with cleanser, facial toner, concentrate, serum, cream, oil and sun protection. And in another corner you have your BHA or AHA peeling , your face mask or other products that you use every now and then. This way you have the right product right to hand.
4. Facial cleansing: quick & thorough
No matter how late the evening is: you shouldn't skip facial cleansing so you can get to bed quickly. It is the be-all and end-all of skin care! But I can understand if you find it difficult to put in a lot of effort in the evening after a long day or a wild party. Especially if you have put on makeup, it is annoying to first wash off the eye makeup with a cotton cloth and then cleanse your skin once or twice. I feel the same way. And this reluctance to go through the endless process of facial cleansing has given rise to my preference for cleansing oil ! Simply put a small amount of the oil in the dry palm of your hand and gently massage it onto your face. Wet your hands and massage your face again so that the gentle surfactants emulsify and remove makeup and dirt from the skin. Remove makeup from the eye area from top to bottom and carefully wipe underneath the eyes with your eyes closed. The result: always freshly cleansed skin, no matter whether I was wearing full make-up or just mascara as usual.
Another tip: When I get home late at night, I go straight to the bathroom before I go into my bedroom. This makes it easier for me to finish my evening routine and then sink into bed feeling refreshed.
5. Leave the beauty tools in the cupboard
If you're short on time, you can skip the facial roller, Gua Sha stone and cotton pads for a while. For a mini massage to compensate, you can simply massage your skin briefly with your fingers to stimulate the lymphatic channels and increase blood circulation. Similar to the Gua Sha stone, spread your day cream or a few drops of oil on your face and stroke your forehead, cheeks and jaw with your fingers one after the other. Your movements always go from the middle of your face outwards.
For the eye area, I can recommend our eye cream . The light texture can be gently tapped in from the inside out. This mini massage relieves swelling and promotes lymph flow at the same time.
Simple tips for time-saving care
Maybe these tips and tricks aren't groundbreaking new insights for you, but especially when combined, they will give you a little extra time in your day. With all the rush, I would also like to remind you that it's important to take that extra time every now and then to consciously look after yourself and be completely with yourself.
But for the days when that's not possible, I hope our tips will help you!
And now: have fun sorting the products in your cupboard!
