Our baby wound cream – powerful protection from nature
by Leonie Poppe
Just born and already the first skin irritations, red spots, etc. - two out of three children are affected by a sore bottom at least once in their younger years. But what are the causes, how do I recognize so-called diaper rash and how can I treat it effectively? We'll explain all of that today...
- Diaper dermatitis – what’s behind it?
- Tips, tricks and goodbye to your beautiful bottom
- The JUNGLÜCK baby wound cream – which ingredients really help?
1 Diaper dermatitis – what is behind it?
It starts with slightly red spots. But if diaper rash is not recognized quickly enough, blisters, scales and even pustules form from the thighs to the intimate area and the stomach/back region. It can itch and hurt unpleasantly. A distinction is made between a bacterial infection and a fungal infection. The latter is characterized by more severe redness, sharper edges and increased scaling.
No matter what form of diaper rash, our little explorers have to suffer and we want to do everything we can to avoid this. But how do these infections arise?
Possible causes:
- The immune system of babies and toddlers is not yet fully developed
- Ammonia, a decomposition product of urea in urine, raises the pH value of the skin and thus disrupts the natural acid mantle
- The warm, humid climate in the diaper provides an ideal breeding ground for bacteria and fungi
- Moisture in the diaper causes the skin to swell (occlusion)
- Sour stool, diarrhea
- Diaper rubs between the legs
- Medications, intolerances, allergic reactions, for example to diaper materials (contact eczema)
- Preservatives, fragrances in care products
- Tooth development
- Dietary change
Our little ones are still very new in the world and were only surrounded by amniotic fluid for months. It is therefore understandable that their very sensitive skin needs time to get used to the new circumstances. Everything just takes time!
2 tips, tricks and goodbye to your sore bottom
However, there are a few things you can do to avoid inflammation in the diaper area. In the early stages, i.e. if there is slight redness in the diaper area, a visit to the doctor is not necessary. However, if it gets worse or there is no relief after 3-4 days, please see a pediatrician or consult your midwife.
Fresh air promotes wound healing
Babies love their freedom of movement and therefore feel great without a diaper. Nothing rubs or pinches and the fresh air also promotes wound healing. However, make sure your home is warm and you have a soft surface to lie on.
Change diapers regularly
For babies, diapers should be changed every 2 hours if possible, while for slightly older toddlers, every 3-4 hours is sufficient. It is important that the little ones do not remain wet for too long.
Gentle cleaning
Since diaper rash can also be caused by care products or cleaning products, the affected area should only be cleaned with clear, lukewarm water. Then dab with a soft cotton cloth and gently blow-dry with a hairdryer on the lowest setting. It is important not to forget the folds of the skin, as bacteria and the like can nest there. Dried dirt or ointment residue can be gently removed with an oil-moistened cloth ( almond oil , baby oil ).
Home remedy: Black tea
A tried and tested home remedy for sore bottoms is black tea. The tannins it contains speed up the healing process. You can dip a clean cloth in the boiled, cooled tea and gently apply it to the affected areas. Chamomile tea can also soothe the skin thanks to its antibacterial effect.
Analyze and rethink nutrition
When switching from breast milk to normal food, the entire intestinal tract is once again adjusting and developing. Therefore, inflammation is not far off. It is important to analyze which foods cause irritation and whether you have recently changed anything in your eating routine. In general, you should make sure that your diet is sugar-free and low in spices!
Baby sore barrier cream
If you notice slight redness in the diaper area, a baby diaper rash cream can help. After cleaning, apply a thin layer, allow it to absorb briefly and then put on a fresh diaper. Remove any cream residue and reapply the next time you change the diaper.
3 The junglück baby diaper rash cream – which ingredients really help?
So what makes a baby diaper rash cream and which ingredients provide quick relief?
We have opted for a water-in-oil emulsion. This means that we combine a mix of organic almond oil, organic sunflower oil, organic jojoba oil and organic sesame oil with organic marigold extract, organic chamomile extract and organic aloe vera. The oils form a nourishing protective film on the skin that prevents the moisture from the diaper from attacking the natural skin barrier. Marigold extract has a calming and anti-inflammatory effect. Chamomile extract is antibacterial and therefore also helps to relieve inflammation in the diaper area. Aloe vera provides the skin with valuable nutrients and also creates a cooling effect on irritated skin.
The zinc oxides contained bind moisture, also have an anti-irritant effect and cover the skin protectively. The junglück baby diaper rash cream contains no fragrances or other unnecessary chemical additives, ensures suppleness and thus creates a comfortable skin feeling for our little treasures.
But our baby diaper rash cream doesn't just help the little ones. It can also be used to soothe and care for inflamed areas on small children, mom and dad. The natural ingredients are wonderful for the whole family!
A sore bottom is usually just an adjustment reaction of your little explorer to the new big world. With gentle care and careful cleaning, however, you can usually avoid a trip to the pediatrician.
Take care of yourself & your family!
Take care
