JUNGLÜCK Annual Review 2023
by Lena Severin
And another year has passed! It's hard to believe that 2023 is already coming to an end - even though it feels like it was still mid-summer last month. And what a year it was. A lot has happened here at JUNGLÜCK. We've reached a few milestones, celebrated many successes as a team and, above all, learned a lot.
When we sat down to review the year, we first noticed how many highlights there were in each team. Unfortunately, not every good event fits into this article, but of course we don't want to withhold the crème de la crème of the JUNGLÜCK year 2023 from you.
1. We launched 13 new products
In 2023, our product family has grown considerably! There were some completely new products, but also existing ones that we have improved. From our nutritional supplements, the Azelain Serum and PHA facial toner and the cleansing milk, to the new favorites enzyme peeling and self-tanning concentrate, to the oil serum with vitamin C, the ceramide serum, the sun fluid and the hyaluronic creams in three richness levels. That means a total range of 58 full-size products!
2. We celebrated our 5th birthday!
In May we celebrated our fifth year of JUNGLÜCK. An occasion that gave the team a small feeling of celebration. It was all the nicer that we were able to look back together on our successes of the last five years. After all, some of us have been there for several years or even from the very beginning!
3. Our Secondary School in Malawi was built
After we were able to open our primary school in 2022 - including solar panels and a well - we were incredibly happy to complete the construction of the secondary school this year. The first students will be able to move into the classrooms next year and thus further expand their education.
By the way, if you would like to know exactly how our school projects in Malawi came about, why and where the construction took place, then feel free to take a lookhere .
4. Our store at Gärtnerplatz – JUNGLÜCK goes offline
With our first flagship store, we were able to fulfill a pretty big dream this year. It was a long time in the planning and then in the end it all happened very quickly. On July 8th we were able to celebrate the opening - together with lots of customers from Munich and the surrounding area. And after the first few months, we couldn't be happier. We have settled into our store with an adjoining office. We have received guests and business partners there, hosted events and, of course, above all, welcomed our customers personally every day with a special store experience. We will continue in exactly the same way in 2024! And for more information, click here .
5. JUNGLÜCK is growing
In 2023, we were delighted to welcome 27 new people to our team. That makes a total of 70 people in the company! Quite a lot, as we discovered at the summer party and again at the Christmas party. How nice that we not only work well together, but can also celebrate well together. And if you would like to join our team, take a look at our vacancies . Or send us an unsolicited application. We are looking forward to it!
6. A successful year of donations
This year, International Women's Day was all about the traces of life and about accepting ourselves exactly as we are. What is particularly nice is that with this message we not only raised awareness of the different physical sensations, but also donated €1,000 to the organization Women for Women International - with the aim of helping female war survivors to build a new life and a new future for themselves.
This year, for Pride Month, we were able to give our customers lots of great, colourful messages at the Munich Pride under the motto “Less Me, More We” - in the form of stickers with a very clear message: We are all beautiful and valuable - just as we are, always and everywhere. As part of this, we supported a project by the organisation All Out with €6,000 to protect and support LGBTQIA+ rights and people in Uganda after an anti-homosexuality law was passed there.
With your help, we were able to donate a total of €43,000 during our Lucky Week . This sum was divided equally between the following organizations:
One Earth One Ocean eV – With their “maritime garbage collection” they free our waters worldwide from plastic, oil, ghost nets and chemicals.
Doctors Against Animal Testing eV – Their goal is to abolish all animal testing for ethically acceptable medicine and science. For us as a vegan and cruelty-free cosmetics brand, this has been an important goal from the start.
The European Food Banks Federation – saving food and helping people affected by poverty in Europe. Members include the German and Austrian food banks and the food banks in the Netherlands.
2024 – we have a lot planned…
... and we're already looking forward to rolling up our sleeves again in the new year, reaching more milestones, introducing you to lots of great new products and doing good things. But for now, we're saying goodbye and heading off to the well-deserved Christmas holidays.
Enjoy the holidays and have a good time!
Until next year!
