Active ingredient hyaluronic acid

IF YOU HAVEN’T NOTICED: WE LOVE HYALURONIC ACID!

And that goes right down to the smallest molecules. Because they are responsible for taking valuable moisture into your skin, keeping it there and thus providing it with the best long-term care. When your skin is full of moisture, small wrinkles and lines are plumped up, redness is reduced and dryness is balanced out. Would you like to know more? Then read on!

WHAT IS HYALURONIC ACID?

Hyaluronic acid is a polysaccharide and consists of a long chain of repeating disaccharide building blocks. A hyaluronic acid chain can consist of up to 50,000 of these building blocks. The individual chains attract each other and form a tight network. Like a kind of sponge, hyaluronic acid is able to bind and store large amounts of water.

Our body uses this property to produce hyaluronic acid itself and to use it precisely where a lot of water needs to be retained, for example in the eyes or in the joints. Most of all, however, in the spaces between the cells in the skin. Here it forms a gel-like matrix in the dermis in which collagen fibers and fibroblasts are embedded. Together with these proteins, hyaluronic acid is responsible for structure and elasticity.
